The purpose of the Task Force shall be to advise the Mayor regarding issues related to making the District of Columbia an age-friendly city by 2017 according to the World Health Organization's ("WHO") eight domains and two DC-specific domains: (1) outdoor spaces and buildings, (2) transportation, (3) housing, (4) social participation, (5) respect and social inclusion, (6) civic participation and employment, (7) communication and information, (8) community support and health services, (9) disaster preparedness and response, and (10) elder abuse, neglect, and fraud.
The Task Force shall be comprised of twenty-five (25) voting members. All Community Task Force members shall be appointed by the Mayor and shall include the following:

The terms of the members of the Task Force shall be as follows:
A. Community Members shall serve until December 31, 2017; B. The Community Member Co-Chairperson shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor in his or her capacity as Co-Chairperson. The D.C. Government Member Co-Chairperson shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor. Government members shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor; E. The Mayor shall appoint members to fill vacancies for the remainder of the unexpired term.
Individuals with professional and life experience relevant to at least 1 of the 10 domains.
The Commission has monthly meetings; subcommittees meet as required to complete tasks.
